As I get time I will send you more photos, some I can ID and others???? Some may be
Lloyd was in the Coast Guard during WWII and stationed in Tawas part of the time. He also worked at a small factory out of town before becoming postmaster. His family still has a farm near Prescott on Black Rd. Della played piano for the local Methodist Church until about 2000. She worked a local grocery store part time.
My dad work in the elevator, for GM, Ford dealer in Tawas as an accountant, National Gypson, and in a factory in West Branch. My mother had her own restaurant in Omer and was a store clerk and a watress. An interesting note about my mother is that she is from a family of 15+. 5 from one marriage, 6 from another, and 4 from the marriage of my grand parents. Of the last four there was a house fire and my mother was the only child of the 4 to survive.
If you continue North from elevator the last house on the left before school belonged to Lloyd and Della.
My Grandfather was an accountant for a group of elevators, he did not own the elevator in Prescott), Sterling, Saginaw, Prescott. I believe he also worked with some elevators in the thumb, Bad Ax, and Remus. They lived in Saginaw before moving to Prescott. Your guess is right I am sure that is how the Sparlings and Hoyts got to know each other. He may have worked for Hoyts at one time???? A few years ago I took Della back to Remus to see if we could find Carrie's house. I think we found it as we both remembered it had a stone porch.
I am the only one that left Prescott, no brothers, sisters and Della and Lloyd did not have any children. That is why I ended up with all the photos, Cert. and other material. By the way my daughter has a set of silver with "H" stamped on it, we assumed the "H" was for Hoyt. It came from my grandmother.
I will try to get to website and update our family for you.

2815 photo-store my mother was a store cleak in the 50,s
2816 Building just past MiniVan my mother owned at one time. The post office that Lloyd worked in most of his career is the little white building just past newer cemment building on the right and not the current postoffice.
2810 Grandparents house, house east(burned down only garage left) parents house. The other house belonged to a family by the name of Vorhees, I believe.
Also my father ran the projector for the theater in Prescott from late 40's to closing in 50's.
