Email Date: 09/13/2006 This is Sherri Freeland, again to let you know that our sweet Loralee is whole again, walking and talking in the presence of her Lord Jesus Christ. She slipped from this life into eternity sometime between 1:00am and 4:00am on this morning of September 13, 2006. Tom checked on her at 1:00 and she was the same. He checked again at 4:00 and she was not breathing and her Bi-Pap machine was still operating. Tom called me and some others shortly after that. Since Saturday Loralee spent her days surrounded by loved ones telling us things she thought we needed to know with the use of the visual cue and her spelling out the words. She listened with great interest to the news of what was happening in the world outside her room. Loralee especially loved the messages you sent. I would print them and read them to her. I decided to start a notebook with the messages and it was Loralee who told me exactly where I could find a binder notebook and the hole punch. She always knew when I had been to the computer and her face brightened when I told her there were more messages. I was so blessed as I read each one to realize how many people loved her as much as I do. She had a great surprise yesterday when her cousin Jim from Virginia arrived and they spent the afternoon talking and reminiscing. Sadly her mother Blanche was not here, but we are expecting her to arrive shortly. Some of us here were discussing the interesting texture of Loralee's circle of friends. They are as varied as the flowers that bloom in the spring. Each one beautiful in its own way. One lady shared that she had missed the opportunity to have a long term friendship with Loralee because she has always stayed within the "box" of what was familiar and comfortable. Loralee's great gift to us was to teach us to reach out and enjoy the people around us, learn from them and share yourself. Loralee never forgot a birthday or your "favorite" whether it be a color or song or car. She was someone you could tell anything

She kept it in her heart and never had a judgmental thought. As of now the arrangements are incomplete. The funeral home is Linn-Honeycutt here in China Grove. The address is 1420 N. Main St, China Grove 28023. 704-857-2401. You can monitor this link http://www.Linnhoneycuttfuneralhome.com/ in the coming hours for further information. Messgaes that people sent to the Funeral named above are: Messages for: Loralee Ann Mericle Bruce Sign Guestbook She was a gem Written by Pam Harding Thursday, 14 September 2006 The world has lost a special spirit in Loralee. I worked with her for many years, she loved every Holiday. I am so happy that our paths crossed and that I had the opportunity to share a part of her life. What a wonderful lady

Written by Harriet Hall Thursday, 14 September 2006 Loralee's Family: I will always be thankful for my wonderful memories of Loralee. Will always remember her beauty as I look at the beauty of this earth that God had provided to us. It was so wonderful celebrating her 64th birthday with Loralee and her friends. She knew how very much everyone loved her. When in her presence she made you feel as though you were the most important person in the world. Always thought of her as the "pretty little blond girl", and yes, I can just see that pretty face looking all about her new surroundings. To her family, thank you for sharing this wonderful lady with us. I will carry her in my heart forever. Love to each of you, Harriet Special Lady Written by Lee & Mannon Eldreth Thursday, 14 September 2006 We feel very fortunate to have met Loralee and be considered her friends. Her spirit of adventure was contagious

She was a good friend Written by Veletta Southerland Thursday, 14 September 2006 Loralee was a wonderful person. I worked with Loralee at UNCC she was a great person to work with. She was so full of life. I will miss her smile and energy. What a spirit

Written by Tracey Crowe Thursday, 14 September 2006 Loralee had an incredible spirit that continued through to her last moments. She was a wonderful friend and an inspiration. She will be with me always. A gift to the ALS Association is one way I think I can honor her spirit and help make a positive difference in her name. http://www.alsa.org/donate/ My Best Friend Written by Margaret Waggoner Thursday, 14 September 2006 I am so blessed to have had such a special friend as Loralee. She and I met in 6th grade and were best friends all through high school. She was my flute playing partner all through band. She was the best friend anyone could have and I loved her dearly. Always there for everyone Written by Della Freedman Thursday, 14 September 2006 You would surprisingly get a thank you card, a birthday card, a "just because" card. She actually mailed these. Who else does that anymore? She gave me a wink on Monday which I will keep with me always. This is a friendship I will long remember. Please see Tracey Crowe's note for donations to ALS. Rest in Peace Written by Jim Pinkston Friday, 15 September 2006 She is in a better place and whole again where we all hope to come together in the future, Thankful for Loralee Written by Beth G. Walker Friday, 15 September 2006 My family met Loralee during a time of great despair; the injury and subsequent death of my brother. Loralee was a tremendous support at that time, and remained a wonderful friend afterwards. We will truly miss her, but have faith we will see her again one day. Beautiful Written by Carolyn Hall Friday, 15 September 2006 How beautiful and vivacious

That's the way I always think of my friend LoraLee. I am so blessed to have known her love and friendship. How thankful I am to know with absolute certainty that we have a Saviour who loves us and cares and with whom we can spend ete ity. Dance for me my beautiful friend. What an incredible lady

Written by Eric & Sue (Howard) Ostrander Friday, 15 September 2006 Loralee touched our lives in such a special way. We worked with her at TWC for many years and looked forward to her smiling face every day. Her heart surely had to be made of gold. She will truly be missed. Fantastic Friend Written by Steve and Sue Struve Friday, 15 September 2006 We will always remember our years in NC with Loralee. Being just around the co er was wonderful. Old cars and good friends. She made the times with the Ho et's Nest fun. Such a special person. Everyone needs a Loralee in their lives and we are grateful we had her. Enjoy where you are now and we will see you again someday. Love you Loralee Written by John E. Hoyt Saturday, 16 September 2006 Bon Voyage on your trip to Heaven, with your Daddy and Grand Parents meeting you. Becoming whole again and with no earthly disability, I'm sure you will put a smile in Heaven to give all the Angels and Relatives that have crossed-over a Sunny Face. Watch over all of us, Loralee. Thank you to all the Friends and Family who helped make Loralee's passing a Glorius & Great Event. DEATH: BURIAL: After her China Grove, NC Funeral Home 'wake'; Loralee's body was brought home to Belleville, MI, and placed next to her father Kenneth, with Blanche Mericle, her Mother present.
